Let's get started
Step #1: Initializing a conversation
Input Search API Key to initialize the conversation. If you do not have a Search API key, please request an API token from Veridion.

Step #2: Constructing a Product & Service Search Query
Creating an effective natural language request for building a search query requires clear and specific information. Here are instructions on how to formulate such a request:
A. Define the Product/Service Category
Be Specific: Clearly state the main category of the product or service. For example, "solar panel" instead of just "solar products".
Use Industry Terms: If possible, use specific industry terminology to describe the product or service.
Example Query: "I'm looking for lithium battery manufacturers."
B. Specify Sub-Categories (if applicable)
Narrow Down: If there are sub-categories within the main category, mention them. For instance, "monocrystalline solar panels" within "solar panel manufacturing".
Detail Variants: Include any specific types or variants of the product/service that are of interest.
Example Query: "I'm seeking lithium battery manufacturers specializing in high-capacity energy storage systems."
C. Include Exclusions (if applicable)
Exclude Unwanted Aspects: Clearly state any aspects, features, or types of suppliers that should be excluded from the search.
Example Query: "I'm seeking lithium battery manufacturers specializing in high-capacity energy storage systems. They should not be for residential use."
D. Specify Geographic Preferences (if applicable)
Preferred Locations: Indicate if there are specific geographic locations for suppliers, like "suppliers in North America".
Exclude Locations: Mention any locations to exclude if necessary.
Example Query: "I'm seeking lithium battery manufacturers specializing in high-capacity energy storage systems. They should not be for residential use. The company should operate in the United States and not in China."
E. Indicate Industry Specifications (if relevant)
Industry Codes: If required, ask to further narrow the search by relevant industries related to the category.
Example Query: "I'm looking for Solar panel manufacturers specializing in photovoltaic (PV) systems that are monocrystalline or polycrystalline. They should not be for residential use. The company should operate in the United States and not in China. Further, restrict the results to only focus on companies in the industry related to the category."
NOTE As the complexity of your queries increases, the number of results returned from the search is likely to decrease. This may yield more precise results. However, it may also exclude relevant results.
More examples
Direct Sourcing (for a product directly used in creating a final product):
"I'm looking for suppliers providing high-performance microchips for smartphone manufacturing."
Indirect Sourcing (for services or products that support the operations but aren't part of the final product):
"I'm seeking maintenance service providers for industrial manufacturing equipment."
Raw Material Sourcing (specifically for the base materials used in manufacturing):
"I'm in search of raw aluminum suppliers for aerospace component fabrication."
Transportation Sourcing (focusing on logistics and movement of goods):
"I'm looking for logistics companies specializing in refrigerated transport for perishable goods."
Packaging Sourcing (for packaging materials and solutions):
"I'm seeking sustainable packaging material suppliers for eco-friendly consumer products."
Technology Sourcing
I'm looking for providers of cloud computing services specialized in data security and privacy for financial institutions.

Note: Queries can take 15 - 30 seconds to formulate
Step #3: Refining your Product & Services Query
Once the initial search query is executed, reviewing and considering the generated terms and their variations is a good practice.
If you find that additional terms or variations are needed, or if there's a need to remove or exclude certain suggested terms, you should generate a request to make these adjustments.

Step #4: Executing & Running your Query
Once you are happy with the query, you can run the query to search within Veridion's proprietary company and supplier data to uncover suppliers that match the request query parameters.

Step #5: Refining Search Results
You can further refine the results by asking
A. Only focus on the companies/rows of interest by constructing queries that filter information in specific fields. It is good practice to reference the column name in the query Video: Queries to filter companies
B. Only focus on the data attributes/columns of interest by constructing queries displaying only relevant columns. Video: Queries to select relevant columns
C. If you make a mistake, you can undo a filtered result by selecting the Undo Button Video: Undo a mistake
Step #6: Downloading Search Results
You can download the results in a .csv format by selecting the Download Results Button
